Living in Miami means we have an infinite summer. Except for the first couple of months of the year, where a cool breeze always decides to make a cameo in our hot and humid city. Well— let’s just say, I was made for days like these. While I wouldn’t endure months of freezing cold air, rain, endless snow and shoving ice out of my front porch, I do very much admire the lovely crisp air on a sunny afternoon in Florida. Right now, it’s about 59 degrees here and all I need are the red Starbucks cups to complete my life. Christmas obviously came a little late this year and that’s okay.
For days like today, I like to sport a comfy pair of Cowboy boots from any one of my favorite brands. Today, I am wearing my “Crush by Durango Women’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Western” boots.
For my top, I’m wearing one of my favorite sweaters from Urban Outfitters over these super deliciously comfy black leggings I bought at Zara a few years back. I’ve also been loving The Charlie Ribbed Tunic from Ohm Boutique. I own the shirt in both grey and green and it’s probably the comfiest, most flattering shirt I own— loosely-fitted to perfection.
I paired the boots up with some really cozy (knitted) tall socks from Free People, which were a gift from my mom. She got them at the store in New York City during one of her visits to the Big Apple. Although I didn’t see this exact pair on their website, I did find a great alternative!
To complete my look, I added my new Apple Watch— which I am completely obsessed with. The watch is very versatile and comes in handy every day in more ways than one. I especially love the part when it tells me to stand up for a minute because I’ve been sitting down for long periods of time. I have particular goals set up on the app and each day it tells you if you reached goal, how many calories you’ve burned, etc. It’s also extremely helpful when traveling. The watch keeps you updated at all times and it’s very useful when scanning the boarding ticket. No need to look for your phone or physical paper ticket in your bag. I get a lot of use it, actually. Plus, it’s so nice! You can also find the Apple Watch Sport here.
Last, but most certainly not least, keep your skin hydrated during the cold winter months. I put lotion on my body every morning, after each shower and before bed! It’s very important to keep your skin healthy and nourished all-year round, but extremely vital to create a routine for yourself during these months. Dry, cold weather can be very harsh on your skin. At work, I always keep lotion on my desk to keep my hands hydrated throughout the day since they can tend to be dry sometimes. I bought this super amazing all-natural cream at Publix not too long ago and it smells like vanilla heaven! I am very particular about anything I put on my body and if it smells the slightest bit funky, it won’t do. But this 4-in-1 body butter from C. Booth is EVERYTHING.
Do you have something you can’t live without when the weather drops? I’d love to hear about it. Write to me through my blog or e-mail me your comments to OliviaGun@gmail.com.
