Sunscreen: The New Anti-Aging Miracle Cream

Step aside expensive anti-aging serums, you now have a new, more affordable rival… SUNSCREEN. I was so excited to read this article on CNN online yesterday and I wanted to share it with you all, because I think it is so important to maintain a healthy skincare routine to help prevent future “mishaps” as we get older. A little excerpt from the article states that, “a new study finds that regular sunscreen use protects against photoaging: the wrinkling, spotting and loss of elasticity caused by exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation.” Now, I am only twenty five, but in the recent years that led up to my mid-twenties, I grew more interested in moisturizing my face in the morning and at night, and legitimately taking care of it with natural products on a daily basis, rather than wearing makeup all the time. I discovered the importance of having a “skincare routine” and I learned that natural beauty is without out a doubt, your best look. By not wearing making each day, I have found my skin to be cleaner, less oily (as I tend to have a very oily complexion —which is good; it helps prevent wrinkles in the long run), and much more radiant. I replaced cosmetic products with moisturizers, CC creams, and eye creams. Of course, I still wear makeup (and I don’t love it any less), but I do moderate the amount of times I wear it during the week, as it does tend to clog your pores and besides, it feels good letting your skin breathe for a change.

Ever since I learned about parabens and some of the other harmful chemicals that are found in (most) cosmetic, skincare, haircare and other beauty products in general, I have been very proactive in researching brands that are vegan, cruelty-free, and promote health and nature altogether. At the moment, I am using Origins A Perfect World SPF 35 UV Face Protector with White Tea, which is a powerful antioxidant rich in Polyphenols that helps neutralize free radicals formed by exposure to UVA light and external pollutants. The Silver tip white tea is actually grown exclusively in the Fujian Province in China and for many centuries, it was prized by emperors as the key ingredient in their famed elixir of immortality.

Immortality. Well, that’s my kind of FABULOUS! Ciao darling! Until next time…
